This date will take a bit of pre-planning. Call Seattle Children's Hospital (4800 Sand Point Way NE) and ask what kind of service opportunities you and your spouse could do on a night (or afternoon) out. Some examples might be to host and teach a craft class, read books to the patients, or delivering flowers. Make an appointment to come to the hospital and serve. Remember to smile and be friendly on your date.
When you are finished stop by the hospital cafeteria and have dinner, drinks, or dessert. I have had some pretty good hospital food before- you might be surprised! While you are enjoying your food find out about a time your spouse was ill and how others cheered him/her up. Share your own experience.
