98101 Daily Dozen Doughnut Company


The Daily Dozen Doughnut Company (93 Pike St.) makes yummy mini doughnuts at Pike Place Market.  They have several different kinds of mini donuts to choose from.  They also serve pot pies, breads, and coffee.  

 While you are enjoying this very yummy treat talk about your kiddos.  I know, I know no talking about kids on a date, but for this one it is okay.  Ask the following questions: 

        In your opinion, what makes a great parent?
What are five essential values we want our children to embrace above all others?
Then discuss each of your children and what is going on in their lives, what can you as parents do to help them?

Pick up a cheap sand bucket at the dollar store.  Add some paper and pens.  Grab your spouse, a blanket, and a "bucket" of chicken from KFC or Ezell's Famous Chicken (theirs does not come in a bucket but the reviews were out of this world!). Ezell's Famous Chicken is located at 501 23rd Ave.  Then head over to Powell Burnett Park located at 352 Martin Luther King Jr. Way.  Powell Burnett Park has some beautiful trees to sit under.  



While you are enjoying your bucket of chicken, take out your paper and pens and write down all the things you would like to do together.  These can be as exotic or crazy as you want them to be.  For example maybe you have always wanted to go sky diving together, travel to Europe, or something as simple as try sushi together.  This is such a fun date to do with your spouse!  When you are done you can cut the ideas into strips and place in your bucket.  Display somewhere in your room to remind you to check your bucket list before you plan your next date.

Did you know a study done by the State University of New York revealed that couples with pets have a closer relationship than those without pets?  Do you and your spouse have a dog that you love like your own?  Why not take him/her on your date with you?

Woodland Park, located at 1000 N. 50th St. has an off leash area you may bring your pet.  If you pet likes to play Frisbee or catch, bring something to play.  Or you can take your dog for a walk around the park.  As you are walking, ask each other about other pets you have had.  Discuss how your pet has enhanced your marriage and how you can learn from your dog things to improve upon.

After you have exhausted all your energy (and your dog’s) plan on getting a bite to eat.  Norm's Eatery & Ale House is dog friendly! That's right you can bring your dog with your for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They are located at 460 N 36th St. and customers really like their gyros and Rueben sandwiches.

Kaffeeklatch is a German bakery & coffee shop.  They are located at 12513 Lake City Way NE Suite H.  Kaffeeklatch has breads, cakes, cinnamon rolls, sandwiches and other delightful pastries.


Kaffeeklatch has a selection of games to choose from customers can play.  So choose some pastries to enjoy, pick out a game to play and sit at a table.  

While you are playing, talk about your favorite games you played as a child.  Why were they your favorite?  What kind of games do you like to play now?  Is there a game you like that you do not own?  Plan on buying it and playing it at home.

98112 Seattle Asian Art Museum


The Seattle Asian Art Museum is located at Volunteer Park, 1400 E Prospect St.  The first Thursday of the month is free for everyone, the first Friday is free for seniors, the first Saturday is free for families and the second Thursday is free from 5 pm to 9 pm.  The Seattle Asian Art Museum features Asian art and artifacts.  There is information on the local Asian community as well.


Bamboo is a Vietnamese restaurant located at 345 15th Ave.  The vegan Pho is a customer favorite.  They also have different varieties of vermicelli.

During dinner discuss the following question:  "What practical steps can we take as a couple to "affair-proof" our marriage?"  This is a very important question to consider.  Make a plan and decide what steps you are going to take to "affair-proof" your marriage.  

98104 Seattle Waterfall Garden


Waterfall Garden Park is located at 219 2nd Ave. The park features a 22 foot waterfall.  The park was completed in 1978.  It is a beautiful place to sit and talk .


La Bodega, located at 100 Prefontaine P1S, specializes in Dominican food.  They have different empanadas daily, salads and sandwiches.  Be ready to tempt your taste buds.

No matter how long you have been married there is always something to learn about each other.  Ask each other the following questions:

98104 Seattle's Underground Tour


Seattle's Underground Tour starts out at 608 1st Ave.  The tour is a 75 minute walking exertion totaling about 3 blocks.  After the fire of 1889 they decided to rebuild on top of the burned wood structures.  The history is fascinating and you will learn a lot.  


Serving Seattle the tastiest BBQ since 1989 Hole in the Wall BBQ (215 James St.) is the place to dine for BBQ. Their ribs and potato salad are customer favorites.

The Seattle Art Museum is located at 1300 1st Ave. The first Thursday of each month admission is free!  (does not include special exhibitions).  The first Fridays of each month admission is free for seniors!  (does not include special exhibitions).  They do have talking tours several times of the year, check the schedule for details.  There are several different collections and exhibitions to check out.


Sweet Iron is a small waffle restaurant located at 1200 Third Ave.  They have both savory and sweet toppings for their Liege Waffles.  Their waffles are made with a brioche dough that is risen for 2 hours prior to cooking.

Milepost 31 is located at 211 1st Ave. South.  Milepost 31 is an information center highlighting the the SR Tunnel project and the shaping of Pioneer square.  Admission is free.  There are several exhibits and they offer special speakers also- check their schedule on the website.


Il Corvo Pasta, located at 217 James St. is a lunch only (M-F)
homemade pasta restaurant.  They have traditional pasta dishes like lasagna, but they also have unique dishes as well-like the squid ink pasta.

98121 Olympic Sculpture Park

The Olympic Sculpture Park is located at 2901 Western Ave. They offer 60 free tours- check their website for the schedule.  There are several art sculptures to see, so take your time and enjoy each other's company- that is why you are on a date to begin with!  


Before you go to the park stop by La Parisienne French Bakery and pick up a few treats to share.  They have many different pastries and breads to choose from, so pick a couple of different ones to share.


98109 EMP Museum


The EMP Museum (Experience Music Project) is located at 325 5th Ave. N.  The EMP museum is dedicated to music, sci-fi, and popular culture.  They have a sound lab, guitar gallery, and many other exhibits including traveling exhibits, so check out their website to see what is new.

Try the POP Kitchen & Bar for a meal or treat while you are there.  They have sandwiches, soups, burgers, and salads.  They also have a happy hour and a bar.

While you are enjoying your food, talk about what kind of music you each like to listen to.  Did either of you play an instrument when you were younger?  Why did you stop?  If you still play have you played for your spouse?  




98109 Pacific Science Center


The Pacific Science Center is one of Seattle's most popular tourist attractions.  Located at 200 2nd Ave N. it is next to the Space Needle.  They have several different exhibits including the butterfly house.  Periodically they will bring in special exhibits so check their website for schedule.  The Pacific Science Center also has an IMAX theater so check out their offerings if this is something you would like to do.  


MOD Pizza is located right at the Pacific Science Center at 305 Harrison St (at the Armory Bldg).  Their specialty is their 11 inch MOD pizza.  You can put all the toppings you want and it is still the same price.  They also have sweet pizzas and drinks.

While you are enjoying your pizza, make a fun list.  Make a list of 10 fun things you want to do together.  Plan to do one per month.

98109 Chihuly Garden and Glass


Chihuly Garden and Glass is located at 305 Harrison St.  Chihuly has amazing glass sculptures to look at.  They are amazing!  They have an outside garden which includes glass sculptures as well.  They also have an audio tour.


Five Hooks Fish Grill is located at 2232 Queen Anne Ave N. Their fish tacos are a customer favorite.  The salmon is another favorite.  Anything you choose here will be delicious! 

Set some goals.  They can either be family goals or marriage goals.  It is important to set and accomplish goals.  List some things you want to accomplish and plan how you will accomplish them.  Make sure you put a date for them to be accomplished so it will keep you on track.

98101 Seattle Great Wheel


Seattle Great Wheel, located at 1301 Alaskan Way, and first opened in 2012.  The Great Wheel can hold up to 300 passengers and is 175 feet tall.  They have special light shows several times during the year, so check the website for details.  



After your ride stop my Lecosho for lunch or dinner.  Lecosho is located at 89 University St.  They specialize in American entrees.  

While on the Seattle Great Wheel, kiss every time you hit the top and make sure you hold hands all through the ride.  Talk about your intimacy.  Is it good?  Can it be improved? How?  It may be hard to talk about sex with our spouse, but it is important to talk about it.

98106 At Home Pizza Date


On a tight budget?  Think you cannot a date and a sitter?  Think again!  After you put the kiddos to bed you and your spouse can make pizza together (or another dinner choice).  As you are making pizza ask each other where he/she had the best pizza and if he/she could have the most perfect pizza in the world what w
would it be like?

If you decide you would rather order in than make pizza try Proletariat Pizza located at 9622 16th Ave SW.

While the pizza is cooking get some pillows and blankets and arrange them on the floor.  Turn on some soft romantic music and light some candles.  When the pizza is done sit on the floor and take turns eating pizza and talking.  As your spouse is talking take note of what he/she is saying and really listen to him/her.  Do they sound happy, angry, sad, or frustrated?  Do you know why?  When they are finished with their
thought rephrase what they just said and ask why they sounded happy etc... It is really important to listen to your spouse when they are talking instead of thinking what you want to say next.  Pay attention to this and try to focus on what your spouse is saying.

98112 Washington Park Arboretum


On your way to the Washington Park Arboretum stop by Hello Robin Cookies located at 522 19th Ave. E.  Grab some cookies to enjoy at the Arboretum.  They are always nut free and have a gluten free option as well! Try their most popular cookie-Mackelsmores- or one of their other delectable choices.


The Washington Park Arboretum is located at 2300 Arboretum Dr E.  230 acres of a vast assortment of plants.  It is a beautiful park perfect for a stroll or a cookie picnic.  

Talk about all of your most happy times together.  What made them happy times?  How does it make you feel to talk about them?  What other things do you want to do together to make happy memories?

98103 Fremont Troll


The Fremont Troll is a unique sculpture located in the Fremont neighborhood (3405 Troll Ave N.)  The troll is 18 feet tall and holds an old fashioned VW Beetle in his hand.  It truly is a sight to see.


Pie is a unique little shop.  It has meat pies as well as sweet pies.  Head over there after you visit the Troll to try one of their delectable pies!  They have cream pies, fruit pies, meat pies, and veggie pies.


While enjoying your food write each other a love letter.  Tell your spouse why you love them and why they are important to you.  Include what they do to make you feel special


98107 Ballard Locks


The Ballard Locks opened in 1917 and allows boats to go between the fresh water and salt water.  It is a sight to see.  There is also a fish ladder you can watch the salmon swimming between salt water and fresh water. You will be able to enjoy the outdoors while experiencing the locks. 


Red Mill Totem House is located at N 32nd Ave & Market St. Sunset Hill (they are closed on Mondays).  Their specialty is burgers but they have yummy onion rings too!

Have you ever thought of taking a marriage enrichment class or going on a marriage retreat?  Talk about it during dinner and when you get back home look up some classes on the internet for your area.

98101 Argosy Cruises Harbor Tour


Argosy Cruises Harbor Tour is located at pier 59 at 1483 Alaskan Way.  The tour will take you on a one hour sightseeing tour of of the beautiful Seattle Harbor.  Argosy Cruises have other tours as well as murder mystery cruises.


When your cruise is over had over to Cutters Crabhouse for some yummy seafood.  They also have meat and poultry selections as well if you do not have a hunkering for seafood

During dinner talk about couples whose marriages you admire.  What qualities do they have that you would like to emulate? Why do you admire them?  What are some things you can do to improve your marriage?

98101 Gum Wall


The Gum Wall, found at 1428 Post Alley,is one of those weird quirky places to go and see.  It may be gross, but it is quite interesting to see the colorful array of chewed gum on the wall from top to bottom.  Make sure you bring your own gum to add to the collection.


Pike Place Chowder is open from 11 am to 5 pm daily.  They are located at 1530 Post Alley.  Their specialty is of course chowder, but they have 8 different kinds of chowder!  They also have crab rolls, shrimp rolls, salads and more.


Is there anything that is bothering you about your spouse or marriage?  It is never good to hold grudges, so take the time to air our your feelings and resolve whatever issues you may have.

98109 Space Needle


The Space Needle is a Seattle icon.  It is located at 400 Broad St.  The Space Needle was first built for the 1962 World's Fair held in Seattle.  It was built to withstand up to 200 miles per hour winds.  This is truly an experience to behold.  There is a revolving restaurant atop the needle.  Make plans to have lunch or dinner there as then the tickets to ride up are free.  The observation deck overlooks the city of Seattle and on a beautiful day you can see the beautiful mountain ranges. The restaurant is a bit pricey so plan in advance.  


The Lunar Orbit dessert is out of this world!


While you are enjoying your awesome dinner in the revolving restaurant (it goes fully around in about 2 hours) share with each other 10 things you love about each other.  It is important to share with one another what you love about each on a regular basis.



98108 Museum of Flight



The Museum of Flight is located at 9404 E Marginal Way S.The Museum of Flight is a really fun museum!  We loved it when we went.  They have over 150 rare aircraft and space vehicles.  They have several airplanes and even a space shuttle!



Kauai Family Restaurant is located at 6324 6th Ave and serves Hawaiian and American fare.  Malasadas-kind of like a sugar donut-are a customer favorite and are only made on Saturdays- so keep that in mind.  This is a mom and pop family restaurant serving authentic Hawaiian food.

Share with each other how you feel about flying.  Have you ever flown?  Do you like it?  Why or why not?  Have you ever had a dream that you could fly?  Did you ever want to be an astronaut? or a pilot?

98101 Seattle Symphony




The Seattle Symphony, which started in 1903, is internationally acclaimed.  They have made over 140 recordings, received 18 Grammy nominations, and 2 Emmy Awards.  You will not be disappointed after a concert with these award winning musicians.



Before you head to the symphony go to dinner at Japonessa.  They specialize in sushi.  They have great happy hour specials.  Try their Seattle Crunch Roll I heard it was yummy.

During dinner talk about your favorite music now and when you were younger.  Did either of you play an instrument?  Talk about your experiences if you did.  Did you want to play an instrument but never had the chance?  Which one?

98103 Theo Chocolate Tour


Theo Chocolate offers factory tours 7 days a week.  They are located at 3400 Phinney Avenue North.  You will learn how they make chocolate from the cocoa fruit and take a walking tour of the factory.  The tour lasts about an hour and you will leave with a special bar of Theo's Chocolate.  

If you are hungry after your tour head over to Paseo and try their Caribbean sandwiches.  They are messy but yummy.  Paseo is located at 422 Fremont Ave.  Just so you know they only take cash, so plan ahead.

Talk about your favorite candy.  Why is it your favorite?  What was your favorite when you were a kid?  If you could make up your own candy bar what would it be?  

98104 Pioneer Square


Pioneer Square is a nice place to take a walk.  It is located at 100 Yesler Way.  It is about 3 acres full of shops and restaurants.  It is old downtown Seattle and historically was the first neighborhood. 
One of the yummy restaurants you can try is Fados Irish Pub (801 1st. Ave.).  Try their onion rings they are a customer favorite!


Hold hands as you stroll Pioneer Square.  Talk about your most embarrassing moments, after all if you cannot share them with your spouse, who can you share them with?  Sharing these moments will bring you closer together.
